Updated: Sep 24, 2020

1) Sir, please introduce yourself to our readers.

Hello Everyone, I am Prabhat Kumar. Having graduated from CNLU, Patna in 2018, I made through the Bihar Judicial Services Exam, 2018 by securing an AIR 4.

2) Please share with us your law school experience?

I have very beautiful memories of my law school. It was in my college days where i realised the importance of Judicial Officers in the Justice Delivery System followings which i made my mind to prepare for the Judicial services exams.

3) How confident you were that you would be able to crack the exam? Did you expected such a rank and how elated you were to hear the news?

I was pretty much confident about clearing the exam, though I never expected a top rank. I was elated upon hearing the news and so were my parents, elders and friends.

4) You managed to clear judiciary exam by securing AIR- 4 in the same year in which you graduated.

Please share with us about your preparation journey of judicial services exams.

I had figured out in college itself that I want to pursue my career in Judicial Services and therefore started my preparation from college days itself. I used to regularly revise the bare acts of relevant subjects and General Studies section from NCERT books. Later on, after college I went on to join Rahul's IAS coaching Institute which helped me alot in completing my syllabus and clearing the exam.

5) Which books you opted for different subjects and what was your strategy while preparing for Bihar Judiciary ?

Previous Year Papers should be solved thoroughly for both prelims and main. Since, Time management is a challenge in this exam, specially in the mains, one should practice answer writing regularly.

For the books part which I referred to while preparing for exam are:

a) Refer to bare acts of

various subjects

b) For General Studies part, I referred to Ncert Books, Lucent, Pratiyogita Darpan and Newspapers. Apart from all this materials from my coaching were really helpful.

6)How was your experience of interview round and how you prepared for the same.

I prepared for my interview by giving mock interviews conducted by the coaching Institute, I was enrolled in. It helped me build up my confidence. Also, one needs to prepare for the subjects well and should pay heed to other dimensions of the interview while preparing like one's own personal and educational background.

I faced the board of Honourable Justice Birendra Kumar. The interview went for almost half an hour and it went pretty well. I was asked questions relating to Bail, Appeal, Judicial Review, Reference, Delegated Legislation, Review, Mitakshara and Dayabhaga Institute etc.

7)Thank you so much sir please end it by sharing your success mantra with us.

One should be honest with oneself while preparing for the exam. Perseverance and timely revisions was my success mantra.

Concluding, I would just say that having faith and confidence in yourself plus your hardwork will surely lead you to success.

Thank you.
